Three years after the events in (1984), the street-wise Detroit detective, Axel Foley, invades the posh city once more, after the assassination attempt on Captain Andrew Bogomil. Against the backdrop of a seemingly endless string of violent and well-orchestrated smash-and-grab robberies known as the 'Alphabet Crimes', Detectives Billy Rosewood and John Taggart struggle to solve the case; nevertheless, in vain. Now, a lethally beautiful hitwoman linked to an international arms trafficking ring is the mysterious and elusive prime suspect. Can the brazen and sassy Axel and his partners solve this thorny case, too? Triviaat 59:25 Foley, Taggert, and Billy Rosewood break into the Beverly Hills Gun Club and Axel Foley finds a note with the coordinates 'LAT 118 degrees 21 mins 510 west LONG 34 degrees 3 minutes 9-10 (presumably a date of Sept 10) 10:30. The meaning of the 510 is unclear and the words LAT and LONG are reversed (longitudinal lines are east and west and the lines run north/south through the earth's poles, and LAT lines are north and south; the run parallel to the earth's equator).
These coordinates according to Google Maps are at 1313 North Meadowbrook Avenue in Los Angeles. Ridiculous and forgettable sequel goes a long way on the talent of its star, but has little else to make it worth the viewing experience. Detroit cop Axel Foley makes his way back to Beverly Hills after his friend Captain Bogomil falls victim to a random shooting at the hands of a notorious 'alphabet killer.' With the help of devoted officers Taggart and Rosewood, Foley makes it his mission to track down the culprit despite the resistance of an incompetent, hotheaded police chief. Murphy has energy to spare, but this lukewarm action-comedy has an abundance of needless plot twists, dialogue that alternates between highly crude and downright silly, and precious few laughs.
Fans of the lead actor may enjoy it, but the script is a total letdown.

It was used more as an intro to the main part of the movie than anything but it still exemplified the movie and the manner in which Foley tended to enter anything he did. 21 July 2016. Ryan Lambie Jul 25, 2016 It's famously one of the worst sequels ever, but why did The Revenge go so wrong? Ryan looks at its disastrous nine-month production.
It's an oft-repeated adage that nobody sets out to make a bad movie, but The Revenge is so legendarily, comically bad that it almost looks like an inside job. The fishy sequel, released in 1987 to scathing reviews, famously stars a rubbery shark that growls when its head rears out of the water, spouting bizarre dialogue and some of the most glaring continuity errors this side of an movie.
What separates The Revenge from the usual bad-movie crowd is its otherwise decent pedigree. It was the product of a major Hollywood studio.
